OMFG OUCH

Chloe is currently writing her first book. omfg ouch: how to live your best life when you’re chronically fully sick’ is a ‘spoonie bible’, a source of support, solidarity and advice for people who live with chronic illness, chronic pain and/or disability, particularly in the early years of their life. Part memoir and part ‘guide to life’, it shares Chloe’s experiences with developing a chronic nervous system illness in her early 20s, and uses these lived experiences to delve into issues that affect disabled and chronically ill youth, e.g. dating, sex, establishing a career, partying, and making mistakes – all through the lens of being chronically ill and disabled.

Chloe firmly believes in the power of community, and with this book hopes to empower her community, nurture disability pride, and help her fellow spoonies thrive rather than just survive.

“Our lives shall not be sweated from birth until life closes; Hearts starve as well as bodies; give us bread, but give us roses.”
